Hi, I’m Stephanie—a graphic and brand designer with a passion for illustration and simple visual storytelling.​

 

After studying art education and graphic design at a four-year university, I worked the next 10 years in a local print shop, a luxury wellness program as an in-house designer, and a creative agency as a senior designer. I’ve had the privilege to design for many industries— from retail to restaurants and finance to construction.

Since 2021, I have started to design, animate, and illustrate under the name Protea, a design studio. Though it's been just me behind the brand, the separation of the studio and my own identity was important to me and curated an abundance of inspiration.​

 

A protea (pronounced PROW-TEE-UH or PRO-TAY-AH—user’s choice) is a flower. A durable, one-of-a-kind plant native to South Africa, Australia, and coastal California, where our studio is located. Proteas marry the masculine and the feminine, the organic and the eye-catching. To me, they represent individuality and growth.
